Edam originates from Holland

Originally, Edam is a Dutch cheese produced in and around the Dutch town of Edam.

Edam is made from cow’s milk. It is a semi-soft or hard, mild cheese with a relatively low fat content. Traditionally, the cheese is pressed in the shape of a ball and coated with red wax.

Edam is not a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). Hence, Edam cheese is manufactured and sold in many places in the world.
